Donald’s practice at The Reape-Rickett Law Firm includes domestic violence, legal separation, child custody, spousal support, division of community property, business valuation, and post-judgment litigation. With nearly a decade of litigation experience, Mr. Reape is a tenacious advocate for his clients and is committed to protecting their best interests. He has represented a wide variety of clients, including business owners, individuals in the entertainment industry, professionals, stay-at-home parents, as well as trade professionals. Mr. Reape’s attention to detail and tenacity has assisted clients with complex property valuation and division matters, as well as identifying complex compensation to determine child and/or spousal support issues and more.

 

Attorney Donald Reape began practicing law in 2016 in the State of Wisconsin as an Assistance State Public Defender where he litigated more than four hundred cases per year across family court, probate, and criminal with a focus on family law matters. Mr. Reape successfully first-chaired numerous trials including felonies, misdemeanors, civil commitments, and parole/extended supervision revocations. In 2020, he passed the Uniform Bar Exam and was admitted to practice law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Mr. Reape’s civil litigation practice defended New England government entities, elected officials, and corporations in civil litigation in both state and federal courts. Donald successfully served as lead appellate counsel defending a municipality in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  In 2024 Mr. Reape withdrew his license to practice in New Hampshire and Wisconsin.

 

In 2025 Donald P. Reape was selected to the Southern California Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Donald earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School and his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University. While at the University of Michigan Law School, Donald served as an Associate Editor of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform.
