Matthew J. Chung, Esq., earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from California State University, Northridge in 2015 and received his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2018. During law school, Mr. Chung participated in the Global Justice Program where he worked in the Family Law Division of the High Court of Uganda, assisted victims of Hurricane Harvey through the Disaster Relief Clinic and provided support through the FEMA application process after the Thomas Fire. Mr. Chung also served as an Executive Editor for the Dispute Resolution Law Journal.

Mr. Chung is dedicated to advocating for his client’s best interest while avoiding unnecessary conflict. An experienced litigator, he has appeared in courtrooms across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Kern Counties. He has represented a diverse range of clients, from professionals and business owners to stay-at-home parents. Mr. Chung understands that every family’s situation and needs are unique, and there are no one-size-fits-all solutions to family law matters. Therefore, he works diligently with his clients to identify their concerns and provide information and advice, enabling them to make reasoned and results-oriented decisions.

Matthew J. Chung was selected to the 2023 Southern California Rising Stars list. Prior to joining The Reape-Rickett Law Firm, he gained legal experience through the public interest sector. Mr. Chung externed for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Civil Mediation Project, and was a law clerk at a Family Law Center and an Immigration Law Firm. Additionally, he has volunteered at various legal aid clinics throughout Southern California. Mr. Chung remains committed to serving and assisting his community as he believes his law degree is meant to be used to help others to the best of his ability.
